The National Science Council of Taiwan in cooperation with other agencies/institutes is pleased to announce the summer internship program, the Taiwan Tech Trek (TTT) 2008. The Taiwan Tech Trek 2008 is seeking approximately 200 of the most qualified overseas Taiwanese youths to participate in its summer internship program. Qualified candidates should complete and submit their on-line application form, statement of purpose, and the supporting documents between January 29 and February 13, 2008 (Taiwan time). Successful candidates will participate in a four-day orientation (June 26~June 29) followed by a seven-week subsidized internship at host institutes in Taiwan (June 30~August 17). For details and application information about the internship program of the Taiwan Tech Trek 2008, please browse through the website at www.nsc.gov.tw/ttt.

Candidate Qualification (for overseas Taiwanese applicants):

a) Must be of Taiwanese descent

c) Must have completed at least the first two years of university-level education in a foreign country (or expect to complete the second year before 6/26/2008)

TTT provides a unique opportunity for overseas Taiwanese youths to gain hands-on internship or research experiences in Taiwan. Opportunities will be available to intern at outstanding research institutes or learn state-of-the-art technology at Taiwan’s famous science parks, national laboratories, and high-tech companies.

Last year, one hundred and seventy Taiwanese Canadian youths had applied for the TTT Program and sixty five people were accepted. The number of applications and the rate of approval were very good in Canada, compared with those in other countries.

Please help promote this program and forward this information to your association members, relatives, friends and Taiwanese youths. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely yours,
