Love is in the air! Les Grands Ballets gets the ball rolling with the timeless lovers of Verona. Romeo and Juliet, jean-Christophe maillot’s three-act ballet, is based on William Shakespeare’s immortal play and set to the music of Sergei Prokofiev. Classical yet distinctly modern, this incandescent work, directly inspired by Prokofiev’s score, highlights the fragility and passion of adolescence over the traditional enmity between the two clans. Backed by the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens, Romeo and Juliet showcases the supreme talents of the Les Grands Ballet’s dancers to perfection.

演出者簡介：

鋼琴／鄧泰山
在越戰戰火中長大，身上流有八分之一華人血統的越南裔法藉鋼琴家─鄧泰山是1980年第十屆華沙蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽首獎得主，也是首位獲得首獎的亞洲鋼琴家。
不同於一般鋼琴家獲獎前的經歷，鄧泰山由母親啟蒙，憑藉著好耳力與毅力，在逃避戰亂的過程中，藏匿深山防空洞仍不放棄每日練琴時刻，分不清是殘破的琴臺還是溫暖的鼠窩，造就鄧泰山淒美音色旋律。1974年在知名俄國鋼琴家Isaac Katz於越南巡演時發掘，隨即推薦前往莫斯科音樂院就讀，受教於Vladimir Natanson及巴許基洛夫，因而鄧泰山的演奏技巧兼具法國學派與俄國鋼琴學派。獲獎後，鄧泰山仍在蘇聯隨巴許基洛夫精進琴藝，並先後造訪超過四十個國家與知名樂團與指揮合作演出。2009年的獨奏會，鄧泰山融合法式美學與東方禪韻的絕美音色，將再度襲奪愛樂人的心房。
