經由我們的統計結果,是4/4最多人有空,所以我們決定今年的楓糖屋之旅 (sugar shack) 就辦在4/4.而日前魁北克台灣青年專業協會(TYPAQ)的會長有跟我們連絡,他們在同一天也有辦楓糖屋之旅,所以我們打算乾脆兩團併一團,交通方式則是租公車直接前往,相當方便,而由於預期會有足夠的人參加並分擔租車費,在費用上面可以稍微便宜一點.此外,若想認識其他同樣在蒙特婁的台灣人,此行算是相當不錯的機會.

寒冷的冬天即將過去,象徵著春天的來臨,而每年的這個時候,正是楓液的採收期.楓糖是魁北克最重要的資產之一,許多農家都以此維生.每逢此時,採集楓液並製作楓糖的農家,都會邀請親朋好友到家中,一同品嘗以楓糖為主題的大餐,所有的食物(如火腿,蛋和炸物等)都會以楓糖當配料.而不少農家就乾脆將此傳統商業化,就算你不認識任何魁北克的農夫,也可以在這個時候到農家享受楓糖大餐和觀賞所謂的農莊.

我們預計在四月初時會舉辦一個sugar shack的活動,目前地點和活動方式尚未決定,詳細狀況會取決於參加的人數.考量種種狀況後,以下兩個日期可供大家做選擇:

蒙特婁是個相當多元化的城市,在這可以品嘗到各式各樣的異國料理,但每餐都外食應該很傷荷包,所以不少同學平常應該都是以自己煮為主,買西式食材當然是不會有什麼問題的,但若要買中式的食材得要去哪買呢?在此試著把我知道在蒙特婁島上的中國超市或亞洲超市做一個小列表,供大家參考,也請有知道其他家超市的人,提供分享一下地址之類的

This is a part of the CBC McGill Series and it features violinist Mark Fewer, bass clarinetist Lori Freedmand, myself and the McGill Percussion Ensemble.
